Kolkata: Senior Congressman P Chidambaram declared on Saturday that his party will win a larger number of seats in the next elections than it did in 2019 and that the India Bloc would easily win Kerala and Tamil Nadu. In an interview, Chidambaram added that it is incorrect to paint the entire opposition as "anti-Hindu" in order to present PM Modi as the "savior of Hindus" and that neither Hinduism nor Hindus are in any danger. The BJP's "well-thought-out strategy" was what it was.

He called Mamata Banerjee, the leader of the TMC and the chief minister of West Bengal, a "key player" in this election and said the India Bloc would be strengthened if she could continue to hold the reins in the state. "I cannot speak about all the states," Chidambaram remarked. With certainty, I anticipate that Tamil Nadu will be a landslide victory for the India Bloc. The UDF and LDF will split the 20 seats in Kerala, leaving no room for the BJP. Karnataka and Telangana are two states where the Congress is well-liked, and they will win a lot more seats than they did in 2019."
In the Lok Sabha elections of 2019, the Congress secured 52 seats. He said that there are also positive reports about the India block from Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Delhi, and that the Congress might perform better. According to the senior Congressman, PM Narendra Modi has decried the opposition parties as a "gang of anti-Hindu politicians bent on breaking India" and accused them of engaging in appeasement politics. This is part of the BJP's plan ahead of the 2018 Lok Sabha elections.

He declared, "The BJP is deliberately using this tactic to paint the entire opposition as anti-Hindu and strengthen Narendra Modi's standing as the Hindu community's rescuer. There is no threat to Hinduism." Chidambaram responded, "She is unquestionably a major player in this election," when asked if Mamata Banerjee might have an impact on the next election. The Indian coalition will be strengthened by her capacity to hold the fort in West Bengal."

The Rajya Sabha MP for the Congress claimed that the Katchatheevu matter was "closed" and questioned the BJP's timing in bringing it up so close to the polls. "Kachchatheevu is a closed issue," he declared. The contract was inked half a century ago. Since taking office in 2014, why hasn't Prime Minister Modi brought up the matter in the past ten years? The Katchatheevu issue is associated with the long-standing conflict over fishing rights and territory surrounding the island situated between Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu's Rameshwaram. It became well-known prior to the Lok Sabha elections because the opposition parties and the BJP were waging a verbal battle over it.
