The Indian Premier League (IPL) saw Mumbai Indians upset Delhi Capitals by 10 runs in the opening game of the double header on Saturday. Mumbai made the decision to bowl first after winning the toss at Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium. In 20 overs, Delhi amassed 257 runs at a cost of 4 wickets. In response, MI lost nine wickets in the first twenty overs and could only muster 247 runs.
Pant attempted to fly the kite that had fallen close to Rohit Sharma during the game. Lizad Williams, who was making his IPL debut, stumbled while tossing the opening ball of the competition at the same moment. Additionally, Suryakumar Yadav performed his trademark "Supala" shot.
1. Tilak Verma caught something while diving.
Shai Hope was removed by Tilak Verma during Delhi's innings after he made a diving catch. On the fourth ball of the fourteenth over, Luke Wood delivered a slower length ball. When Hope hit the ball towards deep midwicket, Tilak Verma, the fielder there, raced over and made an incredible diving catch.

Hardik Pandya entered the game to bowl Delhi's innings in the seventh over. On the sixth ball of the over, five runs were scored. On the off-stump, Hardik delivered a length delivery. It is played towards mid-off by Abhishek Porel. Fielding team Team David threw to wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan, but Ishan was unable to stop the ball, and it went for a four.
3. The first ball was slipped by Williams.
Lizad Williams participated in the IPL's inaugural game. He was also given the first over of MI's innings at this point, but he stumbled awkwardly before he could bowl his first ball.
Williams' injury was not serious, although he did experience some pain. Williams finished that over with strong pace as well, finishing in the 140s, and he even managed to get the upper edge of a stinging bouncer hit by Rohit Sharma.
4. The field was hit by a kite.
A kite that had fallen close to the pitch caused the match to be paused during play. The event happened when Rohit Sharma was facing bowler Lizaad Williams in the opening over of the Mumbai Indians' innings. The third delivery was when the incident happened. Rohit Sharma noticed a kite approaching him as he prepared to take the shot.
Rishabh Pant received the kite from Rohit Sharma right away. The kite was then flown for a short while by the wicketkeeper-batsman before being given to the square-leg umpire.
5. Rishabh Pant made a spectacular catch.
During the game, Rishabh Pant made a fantastic catch. In the thirteenth over of Mumbai's innings, Nehal Wadhera came in to bat at number six. Wadhera immediately attempted a shot towards third man off of Rasikh Salam's ball after striking a four with his opening delivery. But the ball headed in the direction of the wicketkeeper after his bat gained an advantage. Rishabh Pant jumped at the chance and dived to complete a quick low catch.
6. Supala shot was hit by Suryakumar Yadav.
During the game, Suryakumar Yadav made his trademark Supala shot. MI's innings began with an off-cutter from Khaleel Ahmed in the sixth over. Surya made his famous Supla shot on this. One of his hands slipped off the handle as a result of the ball's slow pace. But the shot ended up going fine leg for a six.
