Story 1: Shashi Kapoor's mother did not want to give birth to him. This incident took place circa 1937. Prithviraj Kapoor was employed by the Imperial Film Company as a supporting actor. In addition to this, he was fighting to become recognized as a hero. Ramsarani, the wife, became pregnant at this time. As soon as she found out about the pregnancy, she became depressed. Actually, Raj Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor were his children prior to this. She had no desire to become the mother of this third child.

She tried an abortion in such a circumstance as well. She would occasionally fall from the stairs and occasionally from the bicycle. She would occasionally begin to jump rope. She gave birth to her third son, Shashi Kapoor, on March 18, 1938, after all of her previous attempts had failed. This was stated by Shashi Kapoor himself in the 1995 issue of Filmibeat magazine.
Prithviraj Kapoor founded the Prithvi Theater Group following the birth of Shashi. Shashi spent his early years on stage sets. As a result, he developed a preference for movies at a young age. He began making appearances in his father's plays when he was four years old. Later on, he portrayed Raj Kapoor's boyhood role in movies such as Awara (1951) and Aag (1948).

He wanted to pursue this dream of his and advance in life, but his father, Prithviraj Kapoor, thought he should first put in the necessary effort and work hard to establish himself as an actor.

Story 3: The teacher's beating may have caused injuries to Shashi's face.
Shashi Kapoor attended Mumbai's Don Bosco School. Farooq Engineer, a well-known wicketkeeper from India, was his classmate here. When the class teacher threw a duster and struck it toward Shashi's face one day while they were both seated and conversing, Farooq quickly caught it.

In an interview with the BBC, Farooq discussed this incident: "That duster would have hit Shashi's eye, but I caught it just an inch before her face." I used to tease Shashi by saying that he would have only been cast as a dacoit in movies if I hadn't stopped the Duster that day.
