The Indian women's compound archery team, which included Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Aditi Swami, and Parneet Kaur, defeated Italy 236-225 in the championship match to win gold at the Shanghai World Cup. On their approach to the summit match, the top-seeded world champions proved their superiority by overcoming Estonia and Turkey.
The three players—Asiatic Games gold medallist Jyothi Surekha Vennam, current U-18 and senior champion Aditi Swami, and Parneet Kaur—performed exceptionally well throughout the tournament, conceding just 10 points in their two matches. India won its third gold medal at the Shanghai World Cup when Abhishek Verma and Jyothi Surekha Vennam defeated Estonia 158-157 in the mixed team division.
Earlier, Prathamesh Fuge, Priyansh, and Abhishek Verma's Indian men's compound archery team defeated the Netherlands 238–231 to win gold. The men's squad was only one point away from shattering the global record held by squad USA during the 2011 global Cup in Turin. Vennam and Priyansh will participate in the compound individual women's and men's semi-final bouts later in the day.
