All schools nationwide will adopt a new report card format, with grades based on a six-skill activity test.

Report cards distributed by schools following final exams will soon follow a different format. Report cards will now be created based on more than just grades and exam results; they will also include comments from parents, teachers, and other students who are studying with the children. It is known as the Holistic Report Card, or HPC.

The National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) body PARAKH is developing the format for this new kind of report card. For grades 1–8, a new report card design has been created. New report cards are being created concurrently for students in grades 9 through 12.

In HPC, learning will take precedence over output.
The National Curriculum Framework for School Education's (NCFSE) recommendations are being followed in creating the new holistic report card. Making it learner-centric rather than result-centric is being emphasized. This implies that learning will now be the main emphasis of the report card rather than performance. In addition to helping to preserve the students' academic records, this will allow the students to participate in the process of creating their report cards.
There will be a skills test based on activities.
All of these skills will be tested through activities, and following the activity, each student will receive their score. The marking scheme that will be employed is as follows:

I had the opportunity to gain new knowledge.
I could show off my artistic side.
I was of service to others.
Students will make comments to one another and to themselves after the activity.
The students themselves will have to check any one of these options once the activity is finished. In addition, any student may choose to deliver his remarks in another manner. I enjoyed the work I completed for this, and I did a good job of adhering to my teacher's instructions, which included noting whether or not to answer "yes" or "no" in front of sentences.

Students will have the opportunity to provide feedback to one another once the activity is finished. I was able to complete the task with the assistance of my teacher or a classmate, and I was able to grade myself using the indicators.

Students in grades 6 through 8 will design their own objectives.
Youngsters in classes six through eight will also have the opportunity to define their own career and personal objectives. In order to achieve all of these objectives, students will also need to establish the timeline on their own. In addition, at the start of the new school year, students will have the opportunity to inform teachers of their expectations as well as the areas in which they most need assistance.

Students will receive an ambition card in addition to their report card.
Pupils will receive an ambition card in addition to this holistic report card. Students will write their annual goals on this card, along with a list of the routines or abilities needed to reach them.

HPC will establish a connection between the kids' home and school.
The student's home and school can also be connected with this card. This allows parents to provide feedback on critical issues such as the amount of time their child spends on homework, the problems he faces, the extent to which he understands in class, and the amount of time he spends on his phone and other extracurricular activities.

As a test, NCERT had actually begun creating new report cards as early as March 2023. NCERT ordered all states and union territories' schools to implement HPC report cards in September 2023.
