Betul: During a rally on Saturday in Betul, Madhya Pradesh, the seasoned Congress leader and former chief minister Kamal Nath shouted "Jai Shri Ram." In the now-viral footage of the incident, Kamal Nath is heard telling the audience to yell slogans. Remarkably, Rahul Gandhi, the former National President of the Congress, has frequently stated in public venues that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants people to shout Jai Shri Ram and starve to death. In addition to turning down the invitation to the Ram temple, the Congress high command argued before the Supreme Court that Ram is a mythical figure. Will Kamal Nath's uttering of such slogans now, in this situation, enrage the party high command? It will be worthwhile to watch this.
However, when he and his son Nakul Nath arrived in Delhi in February, rumors that nine-time MP Kamal Nath might join the BJP began to pick up steam. The "Jai Shri Ram" flag flying over his home increased the excitement even further. The flag was later taken down, though. A few days later, Kamal Nath declared that neither he nor his son would be joining the BJP. In the meantime, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav witnessed former Congress MLA Hari Vallabh Shukla, his allies, and other Congress officials join the BJP on Saturday.
Former MLA Shukla expressed his disappointment with the Congress while praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's policies. "The issues on which Congress became the party of the common people and ruled for 70 years are today cut off from the public," Shukla had said to the media. It's now just a gathering of leaders who talk behind closed doors. CM Mohan Yadav made a speech on the occasion and stated, "We welcome each and every one of you into our family (the BJP) with open arms. As I mentioned earlier, milk is essentially crushed sugar. In the same way, everyone is welcome. On any topic, you are welcome to offer suggestions. With the overwhelming majority of votes in the first round of voting, the BJP is certain to form a government.
In the first round of the Lok Sabha elections, voting took place on Friday on six seats in Madhya Pradesh, including the Chhindwara constituency, which is a stronghold of Kamal Nath. Nakul Nath, the son of Kamal Nath, is running for office again from this seat.
