On Tuesday night, stand-up comedian and 'Bigg Boss 17' winner Munawar Farooqui and thirteen other individuals were taken into custody by Mumbai Police after a raid on a hookah establishment. After questioning, they were all released. Everybody has been the subject of a registered case.
A tip had been received by the Mumbai Police.
According to an officer involved in the raid at the Hotel Sabalan Hookah Parlor in the Fort neighborhood, the police were informed that tobacco was being used in this hookah parlor. Following this, thirteen people were detained by the police when they raided the area. These individuals also included Munawar Farooqui.
Nine hookah pots valued at Rs 13,500 were confiscated by police during an illegal hookah parlor raid. They also found Rs. 4,400 in cash. Under certain provisions of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act, a case has been filed.
After learning that he had been brought into prison by Mumbai Police, Munawwar Farooqui, who was spotted at the airport on Wednesday morning, posted a photo of the facility on Instagram. Munawwar tweeted, "I am traveling even after being tired," alongside a selfie.
He was charged with inciting religious emotion in 2021.
On the other hand, Munawwar's name has been associated with controversy before. Munawwar faced accusations of promoting religious emotion in 2021. In one of his stand-up performances, he made contentious remarks about Hindu gods and goddesses. Additionally, he had FIRs filed against him in other states. He was likewise taken into custody and held there for 37 days.
Munawwar Has Won Several Reality Shows: Munawwar first took part in Kangana Ranaut's reality show 'Lock Up' in 2022, following her involvement in a controversy. Additionally, he was the first season's victor. Following this, he emerged victorious from 'Bigg Boss 17' in the previous year.
