Producer Graham King gave a heartfelt speech at the close of CinemaCon 2024 in Las Vegas, releasing the first trailer for the film "Michael." This biographical musical drama, which is helmed by Antoine Fuqua, who is well-known for his work on "Southpaw" and "The Equalizer" series, is scheduled to open in theaters on April 18, 2025. In the biopic, Michael Jackson's nephew Jaafar Jackson plays his well-known uncle.
The teaser, which was only shown to CinemaCon attendees, revived Michael Jackson's captivating presence on the big screen. The noises of jubilant fans applauding their idol performer greet it. The video then flashes back to Jackson's early years, when his mother gives him advice on embracing his individuality in spite of whatever difficulties it might present. Jackson's love for performing is summed up in a voice-over in the teaser, which calls it "magic." It's possible that the film will be a long watch because reports suggest that it would include around 30 songs and span Michael Jackson's whole career.
Regarding Jackson's troubles, the producer stressed that, despite his notoriety, Jackson was just a regular person and acknowledged the close scrutiny and complexity of the pop star's life. Miles Teller plays manager John Branca, Nia Long plays mother Katherine Jackson, and Colman Domingo plays father Joe Jackson in the lead role of Jaafar Jackson. Jackson's life outside of the scandals is explored in the movie in an effort to reveal the person behind the music. Holding loyal to Michael Jackson's mysterious presence as a performer, the trailer supposedly emphasizes Jaafar's remarkable likeness to his uncle.
