Data centers: What are they?
An extensive collection of network-connected computer servers is called a data center. Businesses utilize it to handle and store massive volumes of data. Data centers are needed for the storage of the vast amounts of data generated by social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Instagram, YouTube, banking, retail, healthcare, and other transactions.
These facilities include information processing, transmission, and data storage, as well as functions pertaining to the applications used by the business. It can be compared to a server that manages all of a business's IT. Social networking firms store all of their users' data and information in their own data centers in the digital age. These data centers house thousands of servers.
