Video: The Navy asks crew members to leave and surrender after pirates fire on the ship, which was taken over three months ago.

The ship that was taken three months ago is being rescued by the Indian Navy. The Navy has been hit by gunfire from Somali pirates in the meantime. A video of this was shared by the Indian Navy.

The Malta ship MV Rouen was taken over by pirates on December 14, according to the Navy. They were robbing people at sea with this ship. One of our choppers, or helicopters, approached the ship on March 15 in an attempt to save it. The pirates opened fire on the helicopter right away.

We are acting in self-defense at the moment. We've demanded the robbers hand themselves in. They have also been asked to release the hostage crew members. It is unknown how many people make up the crew.
One day prior, the Bangladeshi ship was saved.
The Bangladeshi ship MV Abdullah was saved from Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean on March 14 by the Indian Navy. A group of fifteen to twenty armed robbers attacked the Bangladeshi merchant vessel Abdullah on March 12 as it was traveling from Mozambique to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The distance between the ship and Somalia's capital, Mogadishu, was approximately 1100 kilometers. There were twenty-three Bangladeshi crew members on board. Immediately upon learning of the hijack, the Indian Navy made efforts to get in touch with the crew members. Following this, the Navy dispatched its patrolling aircraft to keep an eye on the ship after receiving no response. The ship carried roughly 55,000 tons of coal.
Ships with Indian crews have also been attacked by pirates. Five attacks by pirates have targeted ships with Indian crews thus far. The Indian Navy freed a ship from pirates on January 4. The ship flying the Liberian flag was called Leela Norfolk. The ship reportedly sent a message to the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) portal, according to the Indian Navy. Five or six armed pirates were reported to have landed on the ship.

Upon learning of the hijack, a Maritime Patrol Aircraft P8I was sent in the direction of the ship. Additionally dispatched to guard the merchant vessel was INS Chennai. On January 5, the naval operation came to an end. All 21 crew members—including 15 Indians—were safely evacuated during this period.
