The Congress Manifesto Controversy and Appeasement Accusations

Delhi, New: In response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's accusations that the Congress party is pursuing a covert appeasement strategy, the party's platform for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections has generated controversy. PM Modi has emphasized in his remarks what he believes to be Congress's attempt to curry favor with the Muslim community.

Amit Malviya, the head of the Bharatiya Janata Party, has exposed what he terms Congress's "game" with words, despite Congress's repeated claims that its manifesto makes no reference of religion. "We will ensure that minorities get the opportunity of fair participation without any discrimination in education, health, government contracts, skill development, sports, and cultural development," states a point from the Congress manifesto that Malviya tweeted a screenshot of.
Although offering chances in health and education makes sense, the phrase "government contracts" has drawn criticism. Malviya queries the methods by which the Congress government intends to guarantee equitable involvement for the Muslim minority in government contracts, given that public works contracts are subject to a number of regulations that forbid religious discrimination.

Amit Malviya expressed his worries on social media, posing the question, "How can Congress make sure that Muslims and other minorities receive a fair portion of "public works contracts"? Will the technical and financial bids be accompanied by a religious quota as well? Will Muslims be given preference over competent bidders?

He further questioned whether, even in the case that they are competent, Hindus would need to become a minority in order to obtain public contracts. Congress, according to Malviya, is setting the stage for a "tender scam."

Malviya claims that the Congress not only wants to deny people the chance to live a dignified life, but also wants to disperse the property of SC/ST/OBC and Hindu women, including their modest savings, gold, and mangalsutra, among minorities.

Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have made a point of addressing contentious topics in the Congress platform, such as the inheritance tax, gold, and Mangalsutra. It appears that the BJP is using the disclosures on the Congress manifesto to its advantage, igniting debate and applying pressure to the rival party.
