Five key details about the India launch of Mahindra XUV 3XO
India launch
Mahindra released several teases before launching the much anticipated XUV 3XO in India. These are the top five things you should know before purchasing the rivals of the Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Fronx, and Toyota Taisor.
Price (Lakhs ex-showroom)
While the fully loaded AX7L 1.2 TGDi costs Rs. 15.49 lakh, the most basic MX1 manual starts at Rs. 7.49 lakh. Any petrol AT you select in this bifurcation is cost Rs 1.50 lakh over its corresponding manual version, while the diesel is priced Rs 80000 over the equivalent MT model. Moreover, the regular turbo petrol doesn’t get all the way to the top; if you want fully-loaded petrol, the TGDi—which costs Rs 15.49 lakh—is the best option. The MX2 trim level, which costs Rs 9.99 lakh, is the starting point of the diesel line.
Variants
There are five differently classified versions to select from. The MX entry-level is followed by AX, AX3, AX5, and AX7. Luxury Pack and Pro editions are further divisions of this. You may view our bit-by-bit decoding of the variants here. All models also include six airbags, ESC, seatbelt reminder, ISOFIX child seat mounting points, ABS with EBD, and three-point seat belts for all occupants.
Three engine choices
Technically speaking, the little SUV keeps the same engine choices as its forerunner, the XUV300. Thus, the engines are 1.5 litres diesel and 1.2 litres petrol. The base 1.2-litre petrol engine may be obtained with a six-speed MT or six-speed AT and delivers 109bhp/200Nm. The 1.2-litre GDi turbo petrol engine may be equipped with a six-speed MT or six-speed AT and delivers 129 horsepower/230 Nm. The 1.5-litre diesel, which can be obtained with a six-speed MT or six-speed AMT, lastly produces 115 horsepower and 300 Nm. Interesting enough, though, is that the turbo-petrol can reach 0-60 kmph in 4.5 seconds, and its ARAI-certified mileage is 20.1 kmpl.
Features of today
Features like projector headlamps, LED DRLs, 16-inch steel wheels, power windows, front armrest, rear AC vents, 12V outlet and reverse parking sensors are included even in the base model of the vehicle. On the other extreme, you have level-2 ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, a fully digital instrument cluster, a Harman Kardon music system, Adrenox linked car technology, and dual-zone climate control including rear AC vents.
Five design highlights
Redesigned LED headlights and taillights, together with redesigned front and back bumpers, are among the cosmetic changes to the new XUV 3XO. Mahindra has done enough to give the 3XO its own distinctive identity, even though the overall design is still the same as the XUV300.
