Following a ship collision in Maryland, America, late on Monday night, the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore collapsed. Following an hours-long search, Coast Guard official Admiral Shannon Gilreath announced on Tuesday night that the six missing persons had been ruled deceased.

The Admiral stated, "We spent several hours conducting a search operation in the Patapsco River." We think it is very unlikely that the six people who fell into the river will survive, given the temperature of the water and other circumstances. We are ending the ongoing search in light of this. Officials from the Coast Guard and other agencies will still be here, though.

There were 22 Indian crew members on board the Dali ship, and they are all safe. Governor Wes Moore of Maryland told CNN News that the ship's crew promptly reported the threat. This resulted in the suspension of traffic on the bridge, saving numerous lives. For this, US President Joe Biden commended the Indian team as well.
The ship's power supply was interrupted prior to the collision. The Singapore-flagged Dali ship's electrical supply was interrupted, according to the New York Times. It then struck the bridge in a collision. Eight construction workers who were on the bridge at the time plunged into the water. On the bridge, they were performing repairs. Out of them, six were reported lost, and two were saved.

The bridge was in good condition before its collapse, according to Governor Moore. For the Marylanders, the bridge's fall was an unbelievable sight. For the previous 47 years, people have been using it here. There were apparently approximately five cars on the bridge when it collapsed into the sea. There was also a tractor-trailer among these.

Following the collision, the bridge's four lanes were all closed.
According to American time, the Dali ship departed on Monday night at roughly 12:30 am. On April 22, it was supposed to arrive in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka. The Maryland Transportation Authority stated that following the bridge accident, all four lanes were closed and traffic was halted, according to a story published by Bloomberg.

The New York Times reports that the water in Baltimore Harbor was nine degrees Celsius at the time of the rescue. The American Center for Disease Control states that the body temperature likewise drops quickly below 21 degrees Celsius. This raises the risk that someone may drown in water and lose their life.

Before the accident, the ship's anchors were dropped, reducing its speed.
The ship measured 157 feet in width and 984 feet in length. The corporation Synergy Group owned the ship. A representative for the corporation claims that the ship's anchor was dropped as part of an emergency protocol that helps to slow down the ship's speed right before the accident.

Black smoke billowed over the ship following the power outage, hitting the bridge in the process. But during this time, no crew members were hurt. However, Maryland has declared a state of emergency in response to the situation.

According to Biden, the government will pay for the bridge's reconstruction.
In Parliament, President Biden declared that the government will pay for the Baltimore Bridge's reconstruction in its entirety. Overlooking the Patapsco River, the Francis Key Bridge was constructed in 1977. Francis Scott Key, the author of the US national anthem, is honored by the name.

The website of the Maryland government states that approximately 52 million tons of foreign freight went through the Baltimore Port in the previous year. It cost 6.67 lakh crore rupees. Through this port, about 15,000 people have received direct employment. As a result, roughly 1.39 lakh people live in Maryland as well.

A power outage caused the ship to collide with the American bridge: President Biden commended the Indian crew, saying that many lives were saved as a result of them.
