The renowned Joker actor Joaquin Phoenix is donating a signed poster from the film to support a worthy cause. Cinema for Gaza is holding an auction of this poster in order to collect money for those impacted by the unrest in Gaza.
Celebrity items abound at the auction, and Phoenix has added his autographed Joker poster to the mix. In addition, he included a second signed poster from the film You Were Never Really Here, which he co-directed with Lynne Ramsey. The highest bidders can purchase both posters.
Phoenix's contribution is a part of a larger initiative that also offers opportunities to meet celebrities such as Brian Cox, Louis Theroux, Tilda Swinton, and Maisie Williams. Medical Assistance for Palestinians (MAP), a nonprofit that assists in providing medical assistance to Palestinians living under difficult circumstances, will receive the proceeds from the auction.
In addition to helping in times of need, MAP works to strengthen the community's healthcare system in order to offer long-term assistance. They are currently concentrating on providing for Gaza's medical needs throughout the crisis.
Phoenix's gesture of kindness coincides with the eagerly anticipated release of Joker: Folie à Deux, the upcoming Joker film. Fans are eagerly awaiting Phoenix's return to the Joker role in this sequel, which will also star Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn. The Joker franchise is quite popular now that the trailer has been released.
The autographed Joker poster is attracting bids as high as £1,500 ($1,884), demonstrating Phoenix's commitment to assisting those in need. It is anticipated that the poster's worth would increase as the auction progresses, raising even more funds for Gaza.
