In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Sunrisers Hyderabad made history on Wednesday by scoring 277 runs in just 20 overs. In the 17 years of the IPL, a score this large had never been achieved before. Hyderabad overtook Royal Challengers Bangalore, who set a record in 2013 with 263 runs scored.

The Mumbai Indians did not crumble in the face of the 278-run target; in 20 overs, they hit 246 runs. The highest score in the second innings of the IPL was this one. Rajasthan had scored 226 runs earlier in 2020. For the first time in professional T20 cricket history, 523 runs were scored in the match.

1. Abhishek Sharma led SRH with the fastest fifty.
Abhishek Sharma, a batsman for SRH, reached the team's fastest fifty in sixteen balls. For SRH, this is the fastest half-century ever by a batsman in the IPL. Prior to Abhishek, Travis Head had achieved 50 runs in 18 balls in the same game, shattering David Warner's 9-year-old record. But Abhishek beat Head's record and set a new one for SRH in less than 30 minutes.

2. Head ranks second on SRH's powerplay scoring list.

When it comes to scoring the most runs on an SRH powerplay, Travis Head came in second. He finished second with his Australian teammate David Warner after scoring 59 runs. Warner, who scored 62 runs in the powerplay versus Kolkata in 2017, is ranked number one as well. Playing 1 to 6 overs is referred to as powerplay in a T-20 match.


3. In the first ten overs of the IPL, SRH scored the most runs.

In addition, SRH set a record for the most runs scored in the opening ten overs in IPL history. Within the first sixty balls, the side scored 148 runs. Additionally, the squad surpassed the mark set by the Mumbai Indians against them. MI beat SRH in Abu Dhabi in 2021 by scoring 131 runs.

The highest IPL score was achieved by SRH. It took 11 years for this record to be beaten. In 20 overs, the team scored 277 runs. RCB scored 263 runs against Pune Warriors India earlier in the 2013 season. Chris Gayle played a perfect inning with 175 runs in this. Gayle continues to hold the IPL record for most runs scored in an inning.

For the fourth wicket, Klaasen and Markram formed the largest partnership for the SRH.While playing for SRH, Heinrich Klaasen and Aiden Markram, both from South Africa, formed the best partnership for the fourth wicket. Each added 116 runs without a loss. This record was formerly registered to Moises Henriques and Yuvraj Singh. They had forged an undefeated 93-run partnership in 2017 while they were both SRH players.
