Rishabh Pant, the captain of Delhi, hit a four to reach fifty. Mathish Pathirana bowled the batsman with yorkers both times he gained two wickets in three balls. Tristan Stubbs and Ruturaj Gaikwad both made fantastic diving catches. Mukesh Kumar, however, claimed two wickets in two deliveries.
Highlights of the CSK vs. DC match...
1. Supporters carrying 'You Will Never Walk Alone' placards entered the arena.
Delhi's second home ground is Visakhapatnam, where supporters of the team showed up to the stadium with posters endorsing captain Rishabh Pant. 'You will never walk alone'—that is, you will never walk alone again—was printed in English on this poster. The billboard also featured a picture of Pant.
Following his injuries in a car accident in December 2022, Rishabh Pant missed almost fifteen months of professional cricket. He has now returned from the IPL itself.
2. Pathirana used one hand to make a soaring catch.
Mathish Pathirana, a fast bowler from Chennai, made a fantastic one-handed soaring catch. The third ball of the tenth over was bowled slower and with good length by Mustafizur Rahman. Despite David Warner's reverse scoop play, the ball began to travel in the direction of short third man. Pathirana stood there, dove into the air on his right side, and grabbed the catch with a single hand.
Warner's 93-run partnership with Prithvi Shaw ended when he was out after scoring 52 runs in 35 balls. The whole squad congratulated Pathirana on a job well done on the catch.
3. In the fourteenth over, Rishabh Pant misplaced his bat while taking a shot.
On the seventh delivery of the over, Deepak Chahar bowled a short pitch outside the off stump. Pant misplaced the bat as he attempted to play the shot in the off-side direction. Pant then began to run without the bat and ran a whole run.
4. Using just one hand, Dhoni hit a six.
In the twentieth over, MS Dhoni struck a six with one hand. Enrique Nortya arrived to bowl the 20th over, and he bowled a wide yorker on the opening ball. Dhoni scores extra covers with a four. When Nortya bowled the next ball, Dhoni got one hand on it and hit a six in the direction of mid-wicket. Dhoni finished this over with 20 runs. On 16 balls, Dhoni scored an undefeated 37 runs. Three sixes in his innings.
