Raipur: One Naxalite was killed in a confrontation with Bhairamgarh, Bijapur district's Keshkutul area, according to Chhattisgarh Police. Police attested to the weapons' removal from the area.
Jitendra Yadav, the superintendent of police in Bijapur, said that the encounter operations are still ongoing and that more information is being sought.
This incident comes after another one earlier this week in the Kanker district of Chhattisgarh, where three security officers were injured and 29 Naxals were murdered. Since January 2024, 71 Naxals have been neutralized, according to Bastar Inspector General of Police (IG) P Sundarraj, signaling a major advancement in the war against Naxals.
